About

Welcome to the Reynolds Study Center.

I created this website in early September 2009 to help my friends and fellow JSRCC students get through classes like Spanish 201 and Calculus II without downing gallons of coffee and decimating forests' worth of index cards. There are many web resources for college students, but few of them are effective as standalone study tools - and none of them are designed specifically for JSRCC students. This collection of programs, notes, and resources represents my attempt to fill that void.

There are two main resources available to students on this site: notes and quizzes. The notes are actual annotations made in class (by yours truly) and edited later for clarity. The "quizzes" on this website are not really quizzes in the conventional sense. They are not graded, scored, or timed. They are mnemonic applications designed to drill annoying slips of information into the user's skull - essentially digital flash cards. They alternate randomly between sets ("arrays") of questions, and automatically progress when the user answers a question correctly - but not when the user answers incorrectly - ensuring (I hope) a fast-paced, efficient, effective cram program.

I'm thrilled to provide this resource to my fellow students in the hope that I can help them learn, but I cannot accept responsibility for any damages incurred through its use. To summarize the appropriate legal-speak: absolutely nothing unpleasant resulting from the use of this site is my fault. If you fail a test because you used a student-created internet tool as a crutch instead of cracking your textbook open once in a while, that is your fault. If your CPU melts while you're typing out the formula for Permanganate, that is also, somehow, your fault. And so on. If, however, this site raises your GPA/helps you find a job/helps you wow the girl/guy of your dreams with your blinding intellect, I will happily take full credit.

This website was written, designed, and optimized for Firefox 3.5+. I have absolutely no intention to make it compatible with MSIE unless someone pays me to do so. Also, I wrote more than a thousand lines of JavaScript, XHTML, and CSS for this site and copyrighted every last character. If you even consider violating said copyright, I will pursue you to the ends of the earth and decapitate you with a rusty spatula.

Now that everything important has been said...

I hope very much that this site helps you study more efficiently and learn more thoroughly. Best of luck with the rest of the semester. - Joseph Wilkinson (seven AT shadowfold.com)

This website was designed and developed for Firefox version 3.5+. If you were to run it on Internet Explorer - which seems to be your intention - your computer would probably melt. I highly suggest that you download and install the latest version of Firefox, and return to check us out once your browser is no longer prehistoric.
